You might pick up this out of print book at a thrift store for about thirty the hospice robert aickman pdf cents and wonder later if it is the best purchase you’ve ever made. This is one book you read annually and still don’t get bored. The editor has covered over two hundred years of horror literature. A good thing about this anthology is that you get to read non-English writers as well since Kaye has included authors from countries like Russia, Germany, and France.
Don’t expect gory stuff since Kaye has an inclination for subtle horror. But he presents you some outstanding spooky works. Sadly, you’ll need to work hard to lay your hands on this rare gem. Try out Amazon and ebay.
Afterword: Is Terror A Dying Art? I’ve been looking for this book for almost twenty years. It was one of those anthologies I read over and over again but as time passed I couldn’t remember the authors or titles. When I would ask fellow horror fans if they knew the stories they would look at me like I had lobsters crawling out of my ears.
Thank you for posting full contents and for reuniting me with this book. I can identify with your feelings. Must say the wait was worth it. I have been looking for this book for almost 20 years as well! You are commenting using your Twitter account. You are commenting using your Facebook account. Notify me of new comments via email.
